The blossoms in Belgium are the same

Together with all the utrecht inhabitants i have enjoyed the sun and the amazing blossoms' colors these weeks. Last saturday was something special. Taking advantage of some cheap train tickets together with a friend we went to see the southern parts of Holland and the hills of Luik (Liege for non-dutch).We had some coffee in Maastricht city center and walked around. That's quite a nice city with a typical dutch image with no canals but a big river crossing. It was a surprise for me to see that it is actually flat. I expected some hills... From Maastricht you can reach Luik by train in 30 minutes. There you find many hills. We discovered a interesting city around the Meuse river with long history but a stile that's different from Holland. I really enjoyed hearing french all around and going up and down on all those hills. We also had belgian wafels (Luik gofres). After walking for many hours we were really tired so we had to return to Utrecht. I don't know where will be the next trip but i can say that my first visit to Belgium ever was worthy of the effort.
