Role playing

This semester is so much fun! We are playing a role playing game in which we are setting up a beer brewing company, which exports to different countries. We have ten competing teams, each with six people and the teams compete in an elaborate simulation of the beer markets. The whole game is so enjoyable and at the same time has an unimaginable educational effect.

Each student is playing some executive role (marketing & sales, production & logistics, IT, finance). For example, I'm the CEO of Cravious Beer and so far my team is having a great success. At some point fictional and real activities seamlessly converge. Despite we don't produce the real beer ( :( ahhh, there is a step for improvement, huh) we do have real world marketing campaigns, websites, company presentations and so on. And at the same time we are preparing the business and operational strategies and we make sure that our complex (though fictional) operations go in good order. The whole thing is so interesting and becomes so real that it turns out that we are working for about 3 days on it, but it's worth the efforts.

If you are in a technical or a business profile, you should definitely try the SMOI (check the course catalogue) course. SMOI stands for the complex "Strategic management, organizational development and ICT. Hmm, maybe you should also try it even if you are studying something completely different. It's worth it!

Now I'm saying goodbye and I'm going back to work. This week I'm arranging the Friday drinks for the management of the ten beer companies and I have to prepare quite some things.
