I have to admit, One year just ran by... Time flies here in the Netherlands. I had a really wonderful time in Utrecht in all aspects of my stay; the lab work, the pressure and most important of all, the fun! To be frank, I had my share of good times and bad times. There was something surreal about it. But I have already bid my farewells to Utrecht. I have moved to a quaint town close to the German border that celebrated its 2000 years of existence recently. Yes, ladies and Gentlemen, I have moved to Nijmegen. Was a real uphill task finding an accommodation there. Have to admit, I only started getting reactions to my offers only when I made my profile in Dutch! But somehow managed to find an accomodation in time.
I quite miss Utrecht, the distinctive culture, the people and most of all, the Canals. In the past year, the city has somewhat grown into me, become very much a part of me; a home away from home. I will definitely cherish the memories in the coming years for sure. And it has been a pleasure to keep this blog. I had a wonderful time writing about my experiences here in utrecht. I thank the University scholarship funds department for giving me the opportunity to share my experiences through this blog. I would also like to thank Marco Houterman (University Foundation / Alumni Office) for providing valuable inputs from time to time regarding the scholarship. I would like to share a word of advice for future prospective students in Utrecht University:
Getting admission in a prestigious university is no uphill task, but the task only begins when you become a student there, as you will have the responisbility of upholding a name that is tied to you no matter where you go, the name of the university. The shortest way to success is hard work! All the best!
