I am in the library working on a research project on the Mekong River in Asia. The project aims to investigate whether the management of this international freshwater basin is an example of good governance and to what extent is the Lower Mekong Basin regime effective. A few months ago I had no idea of the meaning and use of these concepts, but now I feel prepared to apply them to the study of other cases.
Working on this paper and having given a presentation on it this morning, I finally feel that understand what a Master in Science is about and that I know what is expected of me. My writing and research skills have also improved. Even though, I always complain about the fact that I have to work on my projects, once I get to the library and find my spot, I start enjoying it. The bib at Utrecht University is great. I feel lucky to be able to spend my working hours in such an amazing building, surrounded by books and fellow students…truly motivating!
Finals are around the corner, everyone is working hard. Me too. But from time to time I take a moment to search in the internet for internship opportunities. After all, this is a new year and with it comes the possibility of a new life.
